Recently my late night snack of choice in the dorm has been Cheerios. I turned to the O's for a few simple reasons...
1. Eating chips is just a mess. (The small nature of the dorm room means: Any falling crumbs go straight into my bed = not good).
2. The O's have no seasoning to excite my taste buds before I go to bed. (means I stay relaxed)
3. Cheerios are an excellent source of whole grain. :-)
4. General Mills placed a "Goodness Guarantee" on every box. (you can't beat that)
5. I can get all of these nutrients in a single serving: Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Vitamin D, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Zinc, and even Copper.
If you are not satisfied with your own late night snacking habits, may I suggest a snack like the Cheerios. -You will not be let down by the whole grain goodness.

A View from the K2 Window

Looking out my fabulous Kirwan II dorm window today I noticed a rather large possy of Lexington Bike Cops. The cops were all wearing their sleek navy blue uniforms sitting atop stylish black-framed bicycles. They were all focused on one man, he was wearing a bright royal blue jacket (let's just call him "Blue Chief")... Blue Chief suddenly sprang from the huddle of cops and zoomed up to some nearby steps. *This was quite impressive. I've seen people ride bikes down steps, but to ride up steps certainly takes some skill. Blue Chief motioned for the other 14 or so recruits to follow his move. -They looked hesistant at first, but slowly one by one they nervous apprentices made their chief proud. (everyone made it up the steps after some practice) Then they proceeded to enjoy their newfound skill by riding up and down all of the steps in the courtyard smiling and laughing...I guess you really can laugh in the face of danger.
There are a few great lessons to be learned here:
--1--If you think you can just shimmy up some steps an leave the lexington bike cops in the dust =you are dead wrong!

--2--If you think the cops do not enjoy going up steps to chase you = you are sadly mistaken.

--3--Nobody starts out as an expert in anything. Being good at something is always a process. We all have to learn new skills at sometime, growth doesn't just happen becaue we wish it to be so. Often we need a model of perfection or someone who has been in our shoes so we can follow their example . >>> If you are constantly falling down or struggling with something- maybe you just need to take the time to stop and look at the perfect example. Jesus Christ is our only holy and perfect model for a godly life. Study his life, learn how to act/speak/think like he did. He had provided everything we need...the choice to use it is up to us.

Word to the Wise

We (men) know that the University of Kentucky stays consistent in one thing. In fact, its consistency is mind blowing... = Beautiful Women.
Despite this being such an obvious fact, I feel that a helpful hint should be given to all men on campus. Listen up, and remember:
If a drop dead gorgious girl walks by you on campus, DO NOT KEEP LOOKING AT HER AS SHE WALKS PAST YOU... Why?...

B/c if you look, you'll miss the beautiful woman coming up next!

How do you sleep?

The way you sleep, more specifically the position you sleep in can apparently say alot about your personality...

So here's what they say.
  • The Foetus: Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.

This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of people. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

  • Log (15%): Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.

  • The yearner (13%): People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.

  • Soldier (8%): Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.

  • Freefall (7%): Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.

  • Starfish (5%): Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.

  • I'm a "freefaller"... yet the personality description is nothing like me. I guess that's just b/c I'm pretty random.
So - how do you sleep?
